INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION THROUGHOUT LIFE: Families and Children
Lyrics
I bear lots of animosity to bellhops, they never bring my luggage up on time.
And taxi drivers really tax my patience,
If they vanished, would it really be a crime?
I don't like meter maids or underwater welders,
Health fanatic cooks or camera crews.
Not fond of monks or yoga teachers, or sports fans in the bleachers.
And I'm not sure how I'm feeling about YOU!
There are lots of horrid people on this planet,
That I would love to give a lashing to!
BUT my goody-two-shoes brother, the favorite of my mother,
He's the one I want to smother in a ton of pigeon goo!
Yes, my goody-two-shoes brother, the favorite of my mother,
He's the one I want to smother -- Thank you, Sir! I'll have another!
He's the one I want to smother in a ton of pigeon goo!
And taxi drivers really tax my patience,
If they vanished, would it really be a crime?
I don't like meter maids or underwater welders,
Health fanatic cooks or camera crews.

He's the one I want to smother -- Thank you, Sir! I'll have another!
He's the one I want to smother in a ton of pigeon goo!
First and Second born Attributes
SECOND BORN=PEACEKEEPER
This song demonstrates the frustrations of a first born toward a sibling. In Understanding Birth Order we find that for the first born, " The child within feels abandon." This is shown in this song by that fact that he says his brother was the favorite of his mother. Behind the song Dr. D often is making trouble for everyone, so he may have been a difficult child. Where we know that, "The second child is sensitive to others anger, is a peacemaker" (Guerreo et al. 47).
FIRST BORN=SHOW-OFF
This song is also about an elaborate plot to have the younger brother covered in pigeon dropping in a very public place. This could be an attempt for the eldest brother to show off. We learned from Understanding Birth Order that, "The first born in their work style will try to impress others." He is trying to do this by showing everyone, "Look what I can do! Now I am better than him!" Even if he would have been successful this would not have been enough to make him feel like he was better. His sense of inadequacy was giving to him from his mother, so unless she finally give him the affirmation he so desperately desires he will continue to cause trouble, and try to show off. I doubt that having pigeons poo on the golden child will bring him any closer to winning his parents approval.
