INTRAPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
COMING CLEAN BY: CHASE COY
Brown and Levinson's Politeness Theory
In this song Chase Coy admits to putting on a positive face. He was doing what he thought he should do based on what those around him wanted him to be. He was literally putting on a show about love. In this song he uses negative face. He lets he guard down and is just honest. He is doing what he wants by admitting all of these things. His is dropping the positive face and doing what he wants by "Coming Clean."
Front stage and Back stage
In this song Coy writes that he is putting on a show for those around him by writing love songs. He says that he is in reality lonely, but to those around him he seems happy and in love because of the show he puts on on his front stage. He talks about how his other song are about love even though he doesn't know what love means. He is "trying to live up to" what other want him to be. He is not that person though.
